Malton charity chose it'seeze Ryedale to re-design its website

Sight Support Ryedale selected It'seeze Ryedale to re-design its website, which went live in the middle of last month. The charity provides support to visually impaired people and wanted their website to portray the different areas of support it provides, in a bright, cheerful and easy to read format.

it'seeze Ryedale chosen for new website for Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge

The 2017 running of the annual Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge now has an all new website. Launched just this week, the organisers felt that after 6 years the previous website had run its course and it was time to freshen up and also focus more on the key aspects of the fundraising challenge, which this year raised just over £27,000.

It is also necessary these days to have a website that is fully 'mobile responsive', in other words adapts itself to look great on whatever size device the user chooses to view the site.

The new website reflects the overall new imagery created by Beverley based designer Nic Johnson from DesCom, depicting that whilst recognising the 2 day, 144 mile ride is indeed a challenge, there are also aspects of fun, friendliness, camaraderie and non-competitiveness to the event.

Website health-checks at Scarborough Expo

At a recent Expo at Scarborough Spa I decided I needed to try and stand out from the crowd and do something a little different. As you’ll see from the photo I dressed up as a doctor (complete with stethoscope!) and offered free health checks on people’s websites! It worked really well and generated lots of interest and enquiries. I even attracted the attention of the local radio station. If you didn’t get to attend the exhibition, don’t worry, we can still do a health check on your website.

So what’s all this “Mobile Responsive” website talk?

You’ll have no doubt heard lots of people talking about how Google now insists that websites are mobile friendly, by which they mean that a website should look great and give users an easy experience on whatever device they are searching on.

The term “responsive” or “adaptive” is used in the industry, meaning that the website instinctively reconfigures itself to fit perfectly on a desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile.

According to Google:

60%* of people won’t stay on your website if it’s not mobile-friendly
67%* of people are more likely to buy a product or use a service from a website that is mobile friendly

This is why Google ranks mobile-friendly websites above non-mobile friendly websites.
